Revenue Growth Management: What you need to know if you're looking to grow out this function
Over the last 12 months as the prevalence of RGM expertise has continued to grow, candidates have been in a position to demand higher salaries as the talent pool in FMCG struggles to keep up with demand. While the salary benchmarking shows a rang in salary at each level, salary demands are trending towards the top end of the brackets. Given the salary inflation that is being driven by underlying economic inflation, expect these salary brackets to only move one way!
Candidates who have experience in dedicated RGM roles are either well looked after in their current role, or able to display expertise that warrants a higher salary due to the shortage of talent in this arena.
Candidates who may have breadth of experience across the levers but are yet to pull their knowledge together in a dedicated RGM role, lag slightly behind in salaries, so may offer a suitable compromise to businesses who are looking to expand this function but with budgetary restraints.
There are a handful of businesses who have introduced RGM at an Executive level, but there are very few of these as there are not many businesses with a function mature enough to justify introducing junior support.
At Head of RGM level, salaries range from £100,000 to £150,000 + ; at the higher end of the bracket these individuals tend to have been responsible for building the RGM function and capability in large scale businesses.
Salary Benchmarking
Revenue Growth Management is on everyone’s lips at the moment as the up-and-coming function that businesses are looking to build out. But in such a dynamic environment, how much should you be paying for different levels of seniority?
Below is some detail on what the talent landscape looked like for these roles in 2024.
RGM 2024:
The below are base salaries only, any car allowance/ company car is on top and this varies from organisation to organisation. The majority of candidates who have the experience required are employed by Blue Chip businesses.

*The higher end of the bracket represents individuals who have experience in building out RGM functions and have operated within large scale businesses
**The more senior end either tend to have direct reports upon joining, or they are brought on board to establish a function. There is a cross over in the market at the moment between £90-95k dependant on scale of the business and role.
***The lower end of the salary bracket represents candidates with the right mix of commercial experience but haven’t yet stepped into an RGM role. Candidates with RGM experience, broadly speaking, are demanding £75k +
****RGM Analyst / Executive roles are few and far between but are likely to become more prevalent as the function gains popularity
